Published every Friday at 3:30 PM Eastern Time, the COT report reflects positions held as of the previous Tuesday’s closing business hours. Hedge Fund Position Estimates<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Cotton and Sugar are both at 52-week lows for hedge fund position estimates as of Friday, May 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Note that each market has taken a different route to reach their 52-week low. Sugar is well of the highs from about this time last year. Hedge funds were net long 226,622 in late June last year and are now short (50,912) contracts. This is a massive range of over 277,000 contracts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Cotton has been close to the current level a few times over the past 52 weeks and has bounced higher each time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trading<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n From these suppressed levels, any bounce higher could see a rush of hedge fund buying.
